Boys will be boys

Never really many dull moments in our house.  Noah still thinks he is king and bosses all of us around as well as anyone who comes over.
Here he is yelling at Carson for something
Now he's fine playing, probably because Carson wasn't making any noise or touching anything he was playing with.
2 minutes later, Carson and I get a scowl for something.
1 minute later,  I get him to actually smile for me, this hardly ever happens.  Love this boys smile, his eyes pretty much disappear, haha.

Not long after playing around the train table they move to playing on the futon.  Carson loves this pillow and I had him up there first and Noah has to follow and of course turn it into a wrestling match.

Carson's the innocent one and you can just tell Noah is getting ready to cause some trouble with that tongue out.
Carson is actually on top this time.  However it was only because Carson was trying to get the pillow back since Noah took it from him.
Carson made it out with a smile and his pillow back.
This is usually how their wrestling matches go, Noah traps Carson and won't let go.  These days I tell you, we have to keep an eye at all times on these two.  One of them is either getting into something or Carson is getting hurt.  Someday before we know it, Carson will be fighting back and Noah won't know what to do.
Our days our filled with ups and down but  I love these two soo much. I just hope I have some eyelashes and hair left after we get out of the toddler years with both of them.  I can't imagine what it will be like when Carson starts talking and we get twice the attitude going on in this house.

Carson at 10 Months

Just love this picture of Carson looking all sweet that his Aunt Taylor took!  I want to get it blown up!

However, the picture below is what Carson is normally doing, making messes.  He just loves dumping this tub of toys stuff out.  Everytime he sees it he goes for it!  He never plays with it any of it though just moves on to something else.

At 10 months,  Carson
- has 4 teeth.  The top two are so far apart it's quite humourous
-grunt when you want something.  If we are reading you a book or swinging you or something you like and then we stop you grunt at us to tell us you want more.
-love to get into whatever your brother is doing
-love, loves the book So Big with Elmo.  It's the same book Noah loved when he was about his age.  I don't know what it is about that book.  It will definitely be a keeper since it was both of your favorites.
-still sleeping through the night and still getting up early.  Today it was 5:15!
-can hold your bottle, but prefers no to
-starting to eat a little table food here and there, last night you ate about 5 green beans great and then decided you didn't like/ didn't want anymore not sure which one
-loves all your fruit baby foods.  Sometimes you won't eat your veggies first now if you see another bowl because it's like you know there is fruit in there.
-is a climber, if you aren't climbing on mommy you are usually trying to pull up or climb on something else.  This morning you somehow climbed up onto the train table.
-when you get happy about something you sit on your bottom and turn around in circles.  It's so cute
-just recently really started clapping your hands
-love it when we sing to you
-are getting a personality all of your own
-is getting some long hair, and it sure is blonde.
We love you soooo much buddy!

Noah the Daredevil

About a month ago, my mom had rented a float boat for our family for the day.  I didn't really know how the boys would do but Noah was way more adventurous that I ever thought he would be.  We got on the boat around lunch so I wasn't sure how it would go with naps.  Carson got sleepy pretty quick and didn't want to go to sleep in anyone's arms.  Randi and Jared left early so they took Carson with them so he could nap at their house.  They said he was out in just a few minutes and end up sleeping until we got to their house to pick him up hours later.

Here is Carson after he had just ate his first pudding cup on the boat.  We were trying to keep him happy!

Noah on the other hand, was our wild child. He was perfectly fine wearing his life jacket which isn't my normal kid either, he usually hates anything different but welcomed it and never complained. He wanted to get in the tube after he saw people doing it and I would have never let him in a typical tube with a hold in the middle to the water but this was was just like a big well inside.  It was completely closed in so he couldn't get to the water.  We had a float boat too so we never went fast by any means.  He also let us put the cap on his head without complaints, he really wanted to get in that tube.  I was shocked and thought he won't like it once he is in there but I was wrong he loved it.  He tubed with Aunt Kate and wanted to go again later with daddy.

Later we stopped at a boat dock and went swimming.  (some of us at least, myself not included, it was way too cold for me) and Noah wanted to get in right in the water.  He got in this little raft and kicked his little feet around.  I was so proud of him that day.  He was such a fun easy going kid!
Once we got back on the boat he laid on my lap and was out in no time.  It was way past naptime and our fun little boy was wore out!

We had great weather and a lot of fun!

Potty Training Progress

Well it's been over a month, and we are not potty trained.  Noah has yet to really go #2 on the potty.  At first he would freak out and get super upset when he went in his underwear.  Now he just hides and doesn't cry at all, but I always know when he's gone because he gets that look in his eye.  I got him to the potty one time and caught some in the potty but for some reason he's completely against doing that on the potty.  #1 is a whole different story, he loves "pee pee grass" and that is what we have been doing everyday at all times.  Our neighbors probably think we are super weird letting our son pee  right in our front yard but hey it's actually working right now without fits.  He just hates to sit on the potty.  This morning I got him to stand up inside and do it in the potty so I think he's just likes to stand up much better.  Yesterday we didn't have any pee accidents just the normal #2's so we are getting better there but he still has his days.  He will do awesome one day and the next day not so much.   If anyone has any suggestions to get him to go #2 on the potty I'm open for anything.  It's getting pretty old!  We still have to send him to daycare in pull ups until he's fully trained so we aren't really saving money yet so I'd really like to get this worked out soon!  I know he can do it, just don't know how to get him to!  I never thought this would be such a long process!

Cute Prayer

One night last week, we were praying with Noah before bed and we asked him what he wanted to thank Jesus for. He said papa, yellow, and toys.  We usually thank Jesus, for all of our family and go through a long list each night and a lot of times we say his house, food, toys and things he understands.  But yellow was so funny to us, because we have never brought up yellow.  Haha.  He must really love that color!

Why were we worried?

It wasn't too long ago that we were worried about Noah's speech.  Now I wonder why? Noah doesn't hardly stop talking when he's at home.  We see a whole different side of him that most people don't get to see.  When he's around people or out and about he's shy and doesn't talk much.  At home he bosses, and talks not stop. There isn't really anything he can't or doesn't say.  I have to watch what I say and do a lot more now.  He has picked up so many things that I always say to him and uses them right.  I can't tell you how many times a day he says be right back, alright, mommy's turn, Noah's turn, mommy do it, Noah do it, shoot, stop it just like I'm always saying.  Now the newest thing he does is when we aren't doing what he wants he yells NOW!  I know you all can gather how he learned this.  This week he has heard a lot of that because there hasn't been a lot of listening going on in this house, haha.

A lot of people say 3 is worse than 2 and if lately has been any indication as to what 3's are like, I would truly agree.  They can now talk back, tell you no, and yell.  When I raise my voice, Noah has even been saying mommy, sshhhhh be quiet.

On the other hand the way their brain thinks/ works is just so neat at this age.  It's amazing what they come up with and how they are constantly like a sponge soaking everything in.
Thursday Carson just wouldn't stop crying no matter what, and Noah just walked over to him, rubbed his back and said don't cry Carson, it's okay.  Such a blessing to see him noticing the things we actually want him to catch on to sometimes.  Another one of my favorites lately is  he won't let us leave his room at night until we have prayed and Noah gets the chance to say Amen. Last night he let Matthew and I hold his hands while we prayed and wanted kisses and awww's (hugs, I think he calls it that, because I always say aww when I hug him) from us before we walked out. Moments like that, just help everything else to fade away!

Rough Days

Boy, have we had some rough days in the Jones household.  Cranky teething baby mixed with potty training, whiny, ornery 2 year old  has been a real test of my patience.  I haven't been doing so well, I've been joking with Matthew I was going to run away, I have definitely needed to leave and have a few breaks this week.  I haven't done much around the house, there just hasn't been any chances except for naptimes and I've needed those to just get my composure back, breathe and calm down on the days when I've been home.  I'm hoping we turn a corner soon.  The boys have done well for daycare, and my mom today, and are better for Matthew.  I don't know what it is about boys being so rough for their moms.  It just doesn't seem fair!

Anyways wanted to share a few pictures because we have had a few sweet moments.  Most of the time the moments are short lived because Carson always ends up getting hurt somehow but at least Noah tries some of the time.

Carson got to ride in the Cozy coupe for the first time and loved it.  Big brother had to show him how to make the horn go "beep".

If you will notice below there are real keys hanging in the fake car, Noah thinks he has to put real keys in the car when he rides it.  It's too funny he gets out the car, says "be right back" and runs in to find some keys.  He won't ride it without them now.
Giving Carson a ride.....until he somehow tipped the whole car over with Carson in it.  Mailman drove by at the same time, awesome mommy moment with a witness. Hate when those things happen!
Different day, Noah ran around the house with his mower and Carson crawled around following him.
 Carson getting closer
Then he got smart and started cutting corners by going underneath the coffee table (yes we do have a crib sheet on our coffee table, it's our attempt to keep it from getting worse, only a year old and looks awful from Noah playing cars and trucks on it all the time)
Taking a break to see what's going on outside.
I love these two sooooo much but that doesn't change that being a mom is soooo stinking hard.  I'm hoping for a great weekend and even better week next week.  Let's bring on the good moods boys, mom is ready for a change!
