Carson at 18 Months

Carson at 18 Months, you

- Are a  cuddle monkey, if I had to describe you in one phrase I think that would do it.  You love attention and cuddling when you are in the mood, and if you aren't then you are running around being a monkey, climbing and jumping onto everything!

- Have been getting lots of teeth the last two months.  I think you are almost done besides your molars

- Down to 1 nap

-Bless me by how good you are in the car once we get you in, sometimes that can be the struggle

-Talk, talk, talk.  I'm amazed at how many words you say now.  You use a  lot to communicate and tell us  what you want but you also are repeating after us.

-You understand the word no and use it ALL the time.  It's so cute, you say no and shake your little head!

-Are so good at saying Thank you.  We didn't even really have to teach you it, you just started.

-Still love Elmo. You love little videos on the Ipad with him but aren't a big fan yet of the Full Sesame Street episodes.  They don't hold your attention.  You also do the happy dance when Thomas comes on because Noah loves it and gets excited but you really don't watch it after the opening song.

- On the same note, have the cutest happy dance.  You tap your feet and run in circles

-Got out of your crib 1 night last week but haven't done it since.  I'm not sure why it surprised me but you are a determined boy and you didn't want to go to bed.  We will see how much longer you make it in the crib before we have to switch you.

- Are such a picky eater still! Ready for move past this buddy!

-Love to help mommy, you love shutting doors, putting things in the trash for me or picking up toys when I am doing it.

- On the same token you love to throw things.  Normal for a toddler boy

-You know some of your animal sounds, and love doing facial features.  Once you get going you want to point out everyone's everything and won't stop grabbing onto my eyelashes when you point at my eyes.  I never have any to spare buddy, be gentle!

- Try to sneak outside every chance you get.

-Think the Ipad is yours and you need to watch Elmo all the time but yet constantly touch the screen so it's always stopping or switching to another app.

-Sometimes you tell us when you have went "poppy", others you tell us and go lie down by where your diapers are

-Love to be big and join in on stuff with the rest of the family.  Some nights when we are going to watch something on TV with Noah  and we get popcorn, you think you need some and you are the first to try and get out a blanket for us to use on the couch.  You try to sit with us too but you just can't sit still for that long.

-Likes getting rocked and cuddled before bed, and after nap.  When we are home, if I can I just sit on the bed with you after you wake up and cuddle.  It's our sweet time!

-Loves your daddy more and more everyday.  I think he's your favorite!  The way you always get so excited to see him and follow him around is adorable.

- Love, love, love messing with lights

-Are starting to play more and more with toys finally.  You and Noah really do try and play together sometimes.  You look up to him and want to do what he does a lot.  You are already best buddies!

I'm sure I'm forgetting lots of great things you do right now but Carson we love you soo much!   You are a handful but so cute, sweet, and silly too!

Moving On!

What a year we have had so far in the sick department.  We were all healthy for the most part until right before the New Year, Carson got bronchialitis, then I got it, next Noah.   All healthy for a week or two then Carson got it again.  Everyone healthy again then Noah got chicken pox, then 2 days later Carson got the chicken pox and bronchialitis AGAIN!  Poor guy just couldn't get rid of it.  This last time they sent us to get a chest xray to make sure they weren't missing something boy was that fun taking a chicken pox kid in to get an xray while he was already cranky!  Everything turned up clear but they decided to put him on Prednisone liquid version for kids to try something a little stronger for him since he kept getting it back.  I will never unless it is absolutely necessary let him take that again.  For 4 days he pretty much screamed at me non-stop.    He would hang on my feet and scream like he wanted me, then I picked him up and he would try and push off me while screaming.  He hit, he clawed, he bit.  Needless to say it was the roughest 4 days of motherhood so far!  I'm surprised he still has a voice left.  It took me a few days to realize it was from the medicine, then I remembered how I felt on Prednisone and it made a lot more sense.  I felt so bad for Carson though because he got the chicken pox worse then Noah and had his other stuff going on on top of it.  Poor guy couldn't breathe, he wheezed so bad!  The important part it we have moved on, the medicine has wore off and I got my sweet little, fun loving boy back thank goodness!  Missed him so much!  It was only 4 days on the medicine but seemed like so much longer!

Here are our chicken pox boys in jammies which they sported for pretty much an entire week.  Noah would put clean jammies on after his bath and keep them on until the next bath.  I wanted them to be as comfy as possible.
Carson didn't want his picture taken and was trying to hide.

This is how Carson really felt all last week.  (Sorry Carson had to include this one, will be sure to tell you how you acted this week when you are older!  )
Taking an oatmeal bath.  Carson absolutely hated baths while he had chicken pox.  Last night was the first time we got him to sit down without being forced to sit.  Got some good pictures of Noah's full body chicken pox but was just too busy during Carson's stint and this is the best we had.  His poor head was just covered!
And Awww.. This is what we have been up to the last couple days.   Back to reality and sweetness.  Noah was reading books to Carson yesterday.  They have just been playing and interacting a lot together.
This morning they were holding hands running around circles
And back to making messes and getting into trouble together.
I'm glad we have the chicken pox done and over with for good (hopefully).  They are all scabbed up and healing and hoping they won't end up with too many scars!  Honestly they weren't that bad to deal with, yes it was some extra work, oatmeal baths, anti-itch cream, lavender lotion, some extra whines, and I didn't get anything done for a week  but I did get in lots of extra cuddling and if it wouldn't have been for that darn prednisone we wouldn't of had those 4 awful days on top of chicken pox!

However, I'm glad to feel like we are back to our normal life.  I feel caught up somewhat.  They have been so happy and have blessed me so much the last few days with their playing, smiling, laughing, kisses, and funny talking.

Christmas Wrap Up, Better Late than Never

December was a month with it all. Great memories, family time, lots of food, stress, messes, fun, fun fun, toys everywhere, sickness, many trips out to look at lights and so much more.

I love the holidays so much but I was ready for January.  I needed things to slow down and ready to get this house purged and organized.  We have so much stuff and now you really notice it since we just gained a whole new army of toys.  Haven't came up with a solution for that problem yet but we will.  That's  my goal for the next few months.

This year it really started to get fun with the boys.  Both of them loved the lights and we went out many nights to look at them and took extra detours on our way to things to see some extra ones.  Noah understands so much and blessed my socks off when he pointed out baby Jesus at all the houses around town.  The way he says it too is just downright adorable!
We started some new traditions with the boys and can't wait to keep them going as they get older and into them more!
And I tried to just have fun!
Here are some pictures from our month.  I'm awful at taking pictures and remembering too. I wish I could hire a full time photographer to capture all the moments  I never do.

Carson being silly with my sunglasses at one of our doctor visits.  Looks healthy and happy, yeah he had bronchialitis.
 Noah eating and Carson chilling.
We usually make gingerbread houses or trees, we switched it up this year and made trains out of rice krispies treats.  I spent hours trying to shape it into the perfect train shape or I may have bought a kit from Wal-Mart because this year my theme was having fun and making things easy.
Noah had fun, that was the important part!
We saw Santa.  He surprised us at Papa Bob's and Nana Jill's.  The look on his face!  Priceless.

We had fun looking for Choo-choo the elf each day and seeing what trouble he caused.
One night while looking at lights Noah told me wanted to tell Santa he wanted 2 candy cane lights.  The next  night Santa surprised all of us with not just 2 but 6 candy cane lights.  Noah loved them!

We are so blessed to have so many family members and got to spend time with most of them at all the different Christmas get togethers.  And of course most kids favorite part, opened lots of presents.
Then after Christmas Noah got to go sledding for the first time in his own back yard.  Not a big hill by any means for perfect for his first experience.  He loved it and enjoyed after as well by the fire with hot chocolate. And ever since each time he goes sledding he has to come in, sit by the fire and drink hot chocolate.  My son is a creature of habit!

What a great month!

Carson at 16 months

Carson at 16 months you,

-have been sick poor baby, but hopefully are on the uphill climb now that we have you on meds and breathing treatments.

-still are holding your weight around 24 lbs, wearing 18-24 months tops and smaller bottoms

-always look like you are sticking your chest out, I think it's your way of looking tough for your older brother

-have been talking up a storm and repeating all sorts of words that we say, the other day you copied Noah after he told you to stop it.  We are in real trouble when you really start talking on your own, this house is about to get louder

-climb on anything and everything and make messes everywhere you go.  I really do try to keep you out of trouble and from getting hurt but some days it's just nearly impossible!  You are soo soo stinking active!

-have 10 teeth

-still taking 2 naps but will probably be dropping one soon

-love snacks foods and don't like to much good food.  We have been struggling with the eating department majorly lately.  You throw what you don't want and keep getting rid of foods you will eat instead of adding them.

-are still a major temper tantrum thrower and have started hitting (alot), I wonder where you have learned that from?

-love running around and wrestling, with everyone but Noah!  Loves play horsey rides and flying on our feet.

-Still don't really like TV, you won't really watch anything for longer  than a flash.  However you will read books for awhile, You love them, I can't complain there.

-Still has the silliest little bunny tooth smile.  Still only have 2 teeth in the front with a big space.  It's not looking too promising there!

Carson you are such a fun little boy and you get so playful sometimes, I love it!  I love playing peek a boo and chasing you and just hearing that cute giggle of yours!
Love you buddy!

Wonderful Memory

Last night Matthew suggested we take our boys out to see some Christmas lights, we have already been and I didn't feel like getting the boys ready to leave anywhere but I agreed and said the boys would go without shoes and coats and I wasn't getting dressed either.  We hopped in the car and headed to town, made a few stops and then went to the park to drive through the light display.  I'm so glad that I said yes and that we went because I will probably never forget the fun our boys had and the laughs we all shared.  We got each one out of their seats, Carson sat on Matthew's lap and Noah sat on mine.  Carson immediately grabbed the steering wheel and started moving it from side to side just laughing at himself and Noah joined telling us that Carson was "crazy".  They whoa'd at all the lights, Noah talked about the things he saw and my favorite is when he says baby Jesus, just so stinking cute to hear from a young boy and Carson got so excited about steering he started shaking his head front to back, hit his head on the steering wheel hitting the horn.  Then we all really lost it and he tried to do it a few more times.  It sounds so silly as I write, but I wish I had it on tape.  Such a sweet short memory, and so much fun I had with our little boys.  I'm so blessed to have my little family this Christmas season and get to make memories like these!  Love so many things about this time of year!

Carson at 15 Months

Carson at 15 months you

-weigh 24.2 pounds. For as active as you are you still put on a few pounds in the last couple months

-finally have more teeth.  All of a sudden last week we noticed 4 new ones in the back.  You have been such a trooper about them, got them all without any medicine because well we didn't know/realize

-have went completely independent with eating.  You won't even let me feed you mac and cheese or yogurt anymore.  Yeah, mealtimes are pretty much a complete mess!  You have to feed yourself everything.

-have been cuddling with me again, not rocking but you really like to cuddle at certain times during the day

-still love the darn potty and my pot and pan cabinet!

-love your kisses and the way sometimes you say mwah

-give high fives

-love singing songs, I think your favorite is Elmo's song, it's pretty much how I get you to hold still to change your diaper and Itsy bitsy.  I swear you say spider but it could be me wanting you to say it.

-you are finding ways to let us know what you want even though you can't say it

-love being chased

-do not like to go to bed at night by yourself.  Everytime we put you to bed before Noah you throw a fit but if we put you both to bed at the same time you usually do just fine.

-loves looking at pictures of us.  Your favorite are the pictures in the hall of you and Noah.  You light up when we let you touch them.

-are a climber, anything you can try to get on or up you do!

-started saying Noah, and yelling at him when you can't find him.  It's adorable.  You also just learned puppy and that they say ruff, ruff and kitty cat and meow.  I think you are going to explode soon with talking.

-seriously have one of the cutest personalities I know.  You just talk and talk sometimes and really think you are telling us something.  Your smile kills me, you play so cute with your cars and walk around and make noises for them.  You love your brother so much and want to do everything he does.  I thank God for you every day, so blessed to have you!

Crappy Morning!

Disclaimer:  For  those of you who don't want to read about the disaster with poop on Monday stop here, I'm about to tell the whole story.  I blog to make books for my kids and this is definitely something I want to be able to show Noah when he's older and maybe someday laugh about!

Anyways Monday was probably my worst mommy day yet.  I was upstairs doing what I don't remember while the boys were playing downstairs and Noah yelled up "uh oh, mommy big mess".  I started to go down the stairs and saw a bunch of what looked like poop and moved a little faster to where Carson was crawling up the stairs and noticed he was covered in poop, his hands, clothes, feet, yeah a mess.  I was so confused!  I got downstairs and then saw the real mess.  Noah had went in his undies and didn't have pants on, so my guess is somehow it all fell out and as picky as he is don't think he must of known and I really know he didn't run over it on purpose but he did with his little mega blocks dump truck/wagon.

Then still without knowing I'm guessing he ran the wagon around the big circle in our basement like he usually does until he got back around to the beginning where he could see the tracks and the mess that I'm guessing Carson made worse by touching and walking around in it.

It was an overwhelming moment of where do I even start and I don't know even know if I can clean this up. I got the boys cleaned up first, cried, yelled and took a breather outside while I sprayed the wagon off and then was ready to conquer the mess.  I had a carpet cleaner brought over and began cleaning the carpets.  It actually came up really well and it didn't take as long as I thought it would.  We made it, but hopefully this will be the last incident like this I will ever have to deal with (knock on wood).

Carson at 14 Months

Carson at 14 Months, you are

-Not letting me rock you anymore.  This one totally bums me out.  I was enjoying that so much!
You don't ever want to miss out on anything your brother is doing
- Are getting much, much pickier about what you eat darnit!
-You hate diaper changes and going to sleep!
-You have been throwing some major fits lately.  You get so upset about not getting what you want.  It amazes for someone your age.  You just throw yourself to the ground, kick, roll around whatever you can do to make your yourself known.
-Are into everything, cabinets, toilets, closets, climbing.  You my son are pretty quick and fearless.

I love you so much buddy but not going to lie, this last month has been a challenge with the fits and constant messes.  Lucky for us, Noah has really started to like picking up so he has been helping out a lot.  But yet that also comes back to bite us because he's always yelling at you to not make a mess.

-You still can be such a sweetie.   I just love that face of yours in the  morning!  And you still have your bunny teeth that just kill me!
-You still have 6 teeth.
-You are still wearing 12-18 months
-Still having a milk bedtime bottle.  Although I think this week we will start trying a cup, you usually like to walk around and drink it over about a 1/2 hour and you don't use it to go to sleep so maybe you will let us stop the bottle.
- You will only eat if you can use your hands except macaroni and cheese you will let me feed you.
-You are getting so big and such a cutie pie!  We realized your hair grows incredibly slow so your silly haircut is lasting for awhile.
-You love reading books and you make up your own stories sometimes.  You are the quite the noise maker!
-Speaking of noise, boy oh boy do you make plenty of it in the kitchen with the pots and pans!  You absolutely love the sounds of the lids on the tile floor!  Yeah, mom doesn't so much.
-You don't really have any new words you use.  Sorry buddy we need to get working with you.  Second child we have been a lot slower with stuff!  There are a lot of times you may of said something but I just wasn't sure and didn't hear you say it again to know for sure if you knew what something was.  That's our project this month, new words and face parts!

Carson, love you so much buddy! I'm your mom  I will take the good and bad and still love you all the same!  That smile and laugh of yours just kill me.   I just love watching you and Noah when you play and laugh, my heart melts!

Family Night

Can I just say Saturday was wonderful.  We didn't have anything we HAD to do or anywhere to be all day!

We thought about going to the pumpkin patch in Arthur but since we didn't know how Carson would do we decided to just get some pumpkins in town.  When we went to get pumpkins Noah was way more excited than I expected and he picked one out for Carson and him and then I picked out a bigger one for Matthew and I.  Once we got in the car they both wanted to hold their baby pumpkins.

Just love their happy faces!

Excuse my boys in their scibbies, didn't want to ruin any clothes!  Also not sure how it happened but yes Noah is missing a sock, haha.
Noah was very into painting his pumpkin. Carson on the other hand wasn't so much. He dipped his hand in paint and messed around with his pumpkin  for a little bit and was done.
My little cutie, snacking while we finished pumpkins
After Noah was done with his,  I let him put his hand in paint to put prints on our big pumpkin.  He acutally liked it for bit then asked to wash his hands.  Some things never change!
The front side of the finished pumpkins with help on the faces by Matthew
The back side, kids did on their own.  Pretty ugly, but we still love them!
We had such a great day/evening, wish every day could be that relaxing!

Walmart Fun

Every Monday we usually go grocery shopping in the morning after Carson naps.  Some weeks I put it off until Matthew is home but usually I tough it out, go and hope for the best.  This week we didn't make it Monday and I tried to go Tuesday night after I picked the kiddos up. Matthew was out of the town for the day and I knew he wouldn't be home until too late for me to go so I figured I would just get it over with.

The actually shopping went pretty well, we didn't need a ton so I zipped through most of the store then we got to the checkout.  Boy I really dislike checkouts and I try not to get all excited and relieved that I made it through another Walmart experience with two boys while I'm standing there because I have learned too many times that those few sometimes many minutes there can be the breaking point where everything falls apart.  And..... this week it did!  The normal Noah kept trying to climb out to get the candy, I'm fighting to keep him in, Carson's trying to get out as well and Noah yells at him telling him to stay in.  Then Carson sees some Teddy Grahams in a cup thing and he is reaching out and crying for them.   I give in, we have 2 people in front of us with full carts so it was going to be awhile.   I grabbed the Teddy Graham cup and give Carson some, he shoves all of them in his mouth.  He starts screaming while his mouth is full and mush is getting everywhere.  I pick him up, try to clean him off and he is done, throwing his arms and legs and screaming.   Everyone is looking (that's how it felt anyway)  and the people in front of me started talking about when their kids were little and how things like that don't bother them, it's always the worst for the mom.

Then a lady in the next lane brings over a pack of smarties and asks if they can have them.  I must of looked/seemed/ to be pretty desperate.  I felt like junk for a minute thinking no one thought I could handle my kids but had to bring myself back to reality and realize she probably has smarties for moments like these with her kids and that no one was judging me.  Kids throw fits, kids get upset, they get tired of being in Walmart, I'm sure the employees see it all the time ( at least I tell myself that so I can sleep better).

I also am torn on what to do in this situation, I know with Carson's he's too young to rationalize with I can't really do a whole lot but with Noah I used to bring a sucker or something for him every time and as soon as we got inside he would reach for my purse because there was something in there for him.  I worked hard on breaking that before Carson was born but now I'm starting all over because I need something for Carson to make it through.  I hate letting them eat stuff to get  them to behave, I want the reward to come after not the reinforcement that if you act like this, you can pretty much have anything you see in this store so mom doesn't  get embarassed. I want my boys to someday behave in the store because that is what they are supposed to do not to get a treat or be bribed the entire time.   Parents out there who have been here and dealt with this any good ideas for us?

Carson's 1st Birthday Party

Sunday we had a full house of family to celebrate Carson's 1st birthday.  What a day he had.  He is so blessed to have so many people who love him!  We celebrated with an Elmo theme.   I made him an elmo cake and elmo and cookie monster cupcakes for the kiddos, found them on pinterest of course.  I'm really not that creative.
If you want to see all the birthday pics and missed them on facebook, the link is here

Once he saw the cake, he just couldn't wait to get into it.  I always hoped I would get to experience the fun messy 1st birthday experience.  Noah wouldn't touch his cake for his 1st or 2nd birthday so we finally have a messy one and boy did he go all out getting messy!

I just love his expression here!  Such a mess, but so cute!
Here are my two boys, neat one on one side and messy on the other.  It's so funny how they are so different in this area.  At one point, Noah just looked at Carson like how could you do that to yourself.
Needless to say Carson loved that icing, who doesn't love everything you shouldn't eat, shortening, heavy cream, powdered sugar?  This was a special occasion, he will not be doing this often.  In fact they didn't get any of the leftover cupcakes.  I got rid of them since I didn't want to be tempted either.
After Carson did the cake thing, we gave him a quick bath and then tried to get him to open presents.  He was a little preoccupied .  There were so many people and way to much going on for him to sit and help me. I got him to pay attention to a few but for the most part he wanted to move around.  Since then he has played with a lot of his toys.  This boy loves anything Elmo.  He got lots of books, and it amazes me how much he loves them.  I love to hear him "read" his little jabbering is so darn cute!

Noah on the other hand loved the present opening part, he pretty much thought all of the things were his too and quickly took them over.  Noah has been having a blast this week with all Carson's new toys and has pretty much claimed them as his for now.
 Happy Birthday Carson!
Hope you had a great day!

Happy Birthday Carson!

My baby turned 1 today!

I still can't get over how fast this last year went by.  My baby is so not a baby anymore.
We aren't really celebrating his birthday until Sunday when we have family over for his big Elmo/ Cookie Monster party.   I can't wait to see him when we sing, and what he does when he sees his Elmo cake!

Since we are waiting for the birthday stuff, we took the boys to Homewood for dessert and then to  the park for a fun evening for the birthday boy.  Carson hadn't been to the park since he could walk so he loved it!  I loved it too, boy is it so much easier now that he can walk around on his own!

Carson points all the time, he was telling me about the big tree I guess!
Playing on the Merry go round with brother and Grandpa Bob
 Our boy loves the swings!

Carson at 1 year you

-are walking everywhere!  You can even get up in the middle of the floor and walk you don't need to pull up onto something first anymore
-doing more and more babbling
-wearing 12 months
-still have the same 4 teeth
-are a pretty good but messy eater.  You and Noah at your age were opposites in that department.  You are starting to turn down the veggies now that you have tried a lot of other things, bummer!
You won't hardly sit for anything in your high chair since you are so messy, everything is everywhere, you throw things you don't want.  I think you are permanently going to be moving to Noah's booster soon so I can keep you down and clean up your messes easier.
-love trash cans, toilets, my kitchen cabinets, turning on our big garden tub water in our bathroom, pretty much everything you shouldn't do!  You keep me moving!
-have the cutest wave!
-are pretty much down to 2 bottles a day and have one more day of formula left, then it's milk only!  We have been doing milk at mealtimes and in the morning so I'm hoping you do okay without it.  We will probably just put it in a bottle for you for a little bit longer.
-still taking 2 naps and your afternoon one is usually a pretty long one.  Mommy thanks you for that!
-has the cutest laugh.
-Speaking of the cutest laugh, you also throw some not cool tantrums.  You sure do have a temper young man!
-You love to wrestle with mommy and love being tickled.
-You love to read books and  to cuddle with mom while she sings you songs.  You aren't too much of a cuddler for me during the day but usually before bed I can get you to cuddle while I sing a few songs.
-really starting to figure out more and more about your little world

Carson, you are a lover.  You can be so cute, and you definitely love to be with your momma.  I can't even express to you how much we love you and have enjoyed getting to watch you grow this last year.  We of course have had some times that we are glad we are past but you have brought so much joy to our lives!  You have always been a smiley one and just have the cutest little face!
We are so thankful we are finally sleeping through the night and couldn't imagine what it would be like without you, but blessed are we because we don't have to!  Carson you are such a wild little man, I can't get over how fast you move and how much you are into things and it has been so neat to see how you and Noah are so alike but yet so different.  We have had areas where it has been a whole new experience with you and I love that!

We love you more than we could ever say bubby!
Happy Birthday Carson!

Messes!

My boys make messes.  Period.  And plenty of them.
I have to tell myself that daily, that it's built into their genes.  They are kids, it's just what they do.  And someday when they are gone, I will miss them making messes.  (that may be a stretch but that's what people tell me anyway)

This morning they emptied kitchen cabinets, demolished the playroom (Noah thought everything needed to be emptied out.  Didn't want to play with anything just took everything from it's home to the floor), messed with TP in both bathrooms, emptied drawers in my bathroom, took all the shoes off the shelves in their closet, threw pillows off my bed after it was made more than once, threw food on the floor, spilt milk,  threw toys down the steps, and the list could go on.  No matter what I do, some area of our house is a mess every day.  And every day I'm working on dealing with it. Now that Carson feeds himself I could literally clean my floor every day.  It always needs it but I'm learning to let go a little.  To keep my sanity, I have to.

Carson is obsessed with the trash can.  He moves it all over, he dumps it over, he takes the lid off.  Yeah it's gross!

Carson is also obsessed with the toilet and he can lift the lid.  Noah wouldn't ever touch it if the lid was down.  Nope, not Carson, he can lift the lid no problem.  He also loves the bathroom trash, and the toilet bowl cleaning system.  Notice in the picture below, not only is there toilet paper on the floor (pretty much a daily occurence) but the bathroom trash and toilet bowl cleaning stuff is up high.  It no longer gets it old home on the floor because I can't be everywhere, all the time.  Every day I walk into my bathroom and get annoyed.  It never feels clean without everything in it's spot, but hey that's life.

If I ever get to unroll my own toilet paper for the first time off a roll, it may be a small miracle.  If it's not off the roll, then it's a roll that's been wound back up after an incident like this.

Even though they make messes, I'm still so blessed to have them in our lives.  What would I do if I didn't have to clean up after them all the time and get the chance to look into these sweet little faces of theirs?

These boys are my life!  Adorable, fun, and messy.  Gotta take it all!

Carson's First Haircut

I still just can't believe my baby is going to be 1 at the end of this month.  This year has flown by.  Well we are getting pictures this weekend and with his birthday coming up decided it was time for his first haircut.  His mullet back and earmuffs over his ears needed to go!

Here is a picture from earlier this week after bath.  His hair gets pretty wild!

Here is my baby after his first haircut.  He did so well, I was so proud.  I took both boys to get haircuts at  the same time, on my way I was wondering if I was about to do something really stupid.  But it went as good as it could have.  They did both of them at the same time and I was alone so I didn't get any pictures during. Noah sat on the chair across the room and got his cut while Carson sat on my lap and got his done.  He didn't cry at all, nothing like the first many times we tried to cut Noah's.  My boys seem so grown up sometimes and this was one of those proud mommy moments!
That cheesy smile and bunny teeth just kill me!  Such a little boy now!

Brotherly Love

Tuesday night I was getting the boys dinner ready and was going to try and do a few things while they were eating and since Carson never stays put in his high chair anymore I thought I would try Noah's seat.  To my surprise Noah took it fine but wanted to sit in a big sit right next to him.  Then he proceeded to tell me, Noah wanted to feed Carson so I let him try.  These boys can be so cute sometimes!  Carson loves food, he doesn't really care who it comes from so it didn't bother him either.

Love how Noah's mouth is open in this one, I totally catch myself doing that sometimes.
After they were done eating, I had them BOTH sitting at the table in their chairs eating Goldfish, and I went back to my room to change (probably gone max 2 minutes)  I came back to Noah sitting on the lazy susan on our table, spinning in circles and Goldfish everywhere.  Noah had poured them all over Carson's tray which most of which made it to the floor.  (The picture was an aftershot, I should of taken one before I cleaned up most of the mess)

You can't leave these two hardly ever without them getting into something or making some sort of mess!

Carson at 11 Months

Can it really be possible that my little baby will be turning a year in a month! Craziness!

This afternoon I have been working on birthday invites for his Elmo themed  party!  I can't wait, I'm hoping he goes crazy with the cake.  Noah had such texture issues he wouldn't touch it and Carson usually attacks food, so hopefully he won't  let momma down!

At 11 Months Carson
-weighs a little over 22 pounds
-still has 4 teeth, we have been here forever I feel like.  The top two are still so far apart, it's cute and really funny looking at the same time
-getting such long hair, your first haircut is in the very, very near future!
-starting to stand for a little bit on your own, you are still pretty nervous about letting go.  It won't be too much longer though until you walk.  You have always got somewhere to go!
-Are obsessed with toilets and trash cans,  you get in one or the other pretty much every day.
-Have let us sleep in a little this last week, really hope this continues.  5 to 5:30 is not my preferred wake up time!
-Loves food!  You have been eating lots of  table food this week and have been doing awesome, such a blessing that is!
-Love it when we sing songs to you!
-Loves all your brothers toys, not big on baby toys.
-really quick on going up stairs, we haven't let you go down too much yet.
-still wearing 12 months clothes, even though some are getting a little too short length wise.
-Is ticklish and loves when you blow zerberts on his belly
-Loves wrestling and rolling around with mom, like Noah loves to do!
-is such a playful little boy, he has such a sweet and cute personality.
-says mama, dada, baba and lots of other sounds.  You are so much more vocal than Noah was

Baby boy, we love you soo much and we are looking forward to your first birthday, still can't get over the fact that its in less  than a month!

All by himself

Tonight Carson fed himself his dinner for the first time.  It's amazing how much later we have done pretty much everything with Carson.  With Noah I was always waiting to get to the next milestone and excited to try all the new stuff like food, sippy cups, and walkers. Now  that we have already been through all that, I'm not in a hurry this time. We always had such a struggle with Noah and food  so I'm thankful that Carson seems to be much easier in that department.  Tonight I put peaches and green beans on his tray and he sure made a mess but he ate them like a champ.  He has fed himself puffs, and some other baby snacks but we haven't really had him experiment with food or sippy cups too much yet, so I decided tonight was the night. It was actually pretty nice, because I actually just got to feed myself while Noah and Carson helped themselves to their green beans!  Now we just need to keep working on it, and get him to start eating a variety of different finger foods!  Carson is getting so fun, and getting  a personality all of his own!
