Lucky Little Boy

All I have to say is wow, we so blessed to have such wonderful families and so many people to call family.  Our house was packed for Noah's birthday party over the weekend.  He sure is one loved little boy!

This year I did a Mickey theme birthday party and of course with all the pinterest ideas, wanted to go all crazy wild.  But I put my real life hat on and decided to go simple and very low budget and just get a few things.  I had decided to do Mickey in the beginning of December and ordered the invitations off of Etsy so I was kind of locked in to the idea.  Little did I know that Noah would soon not be so Mickey crazy and would have a new fascination with the movie Cars otherwise I would have done that instead. I wish I would have known but since he is only 2, it wasn't like he was upset he had a Mickey party as a matter of fact he loved his Mickey balloons and we still have his banner up and he likes that alot as well.
Here is little man playing with his balloon before the party

Cupcake tower and cupcakes made by mom

Noah getting ready to attempt to blow out his candles.  He tries but still hasn't got them himself.  He is so cute when he tries to blow them.

Never really knows what to think about the smoke.  The first time it scared him but he did okay that day.

Now next there should be a picture of a messy little boy from eating cake or a cupcake.. But not our Noah.  Yet again this year wouldn't try any.  At least he didn't cry this year like last, he just wanted down to play with cousins!

After a bit we got him to begin his long process of present opening.  He got so many wonderful things and it's stressful as a parent when you child opens up his toys not knowing what their reaction will be.  Some they make more of a deal than others but honestly he has played with each and every single thing he received by the next morning.  He really does love all his toys! It's also hard at this age because they want to play with everything as they open it.  After the first couple though he kind of got the idea that we were going to open up all the presents first before playing.  Yesterday morning after church was fun he just went everywhere playing with all his different toys.  Each one got a turn!  Our playroom is definetly out of control now, so I'm going to have to figure out something and some way to split up these toys!  I think we are going to start some sort of rotating system so they aren't all out at once!  It's just too overwhelming in there and it's impossible to clean it up since there isn't room for everything!

Starting to calm down for the day and playing with some cars.  Poor guy hasn't been feeling well off and on, I can't figure out if it's ears or teeth but he will just go into crying fits and hold his ears or his mouth like something hurts.  And his fever has been coming and going but overall he did great for a little boy who wasn't feeling his best.  We also gave him medicine right before so that didn't hurt either, haha.
It's so neat to see the excitement on his face!  I loved every minute of his special day!

What Noah's doing at 2 Years Old

At 2 years old
Noah is still all boy, everything is all about balls, cars, trucks, and trains.  I have a feeling in the next few years I will be out of my league with all this boy stuff

Eating more and more things!  He has been trying so many new foods lately.  I don't care if he doesn't eat all of something if he tries it, I'm just glad he gave something new a chance.  It's a start

Becoming more and more social, he's getting better and better at being around people and interacting more

Loves to love on us!  He has been giving me great hugs when I come home from works and squeezing me real tight.  I absolutely love it. Also every night before bed whether he is reading books or watching something on TV he will want me to sit right next to him and then he will get on my lap for cuddle time. (one of my favorite times of the day of course)

Such a good boy most of the time, Of course we still have our battles, but they are much, much , much fewer than before.

Still loves when we read to him and loves to question us like we question him all the time
I think he actually likes learning now!

Knows his body parts, colors, some shapes, a lot of animals, will do some animal sounds, still working on the getting himself dressed part.  He can take some stuff off but haven't mastered the putting on yet.

Getting closer to being ready for potty training maybe.  After the fact sometimes, he will point down and say "I did this".  We happened to get it on video one night too, hilarious!  If he doesn't do that he has mostly likely left the room, and decided to play really well alone so we won't notice he has filled his pants.

Loves being near and around his brother.  He makes sure we never forget him when we leave.

Starting to be a little more picky about his clothes.  Certain days lately he has tried to show me what he wanted to wear.  He loves yellow and orange!

Knows his daily routine and likes to stick to it!

Is such a good helper, he loves to help daddy anytime he has his tools out.  He also likes to help me when I attempt cleaning with him around.  But in the normal day to day things he tries to help as well.

Wears mostly 18-24 months stuff.  Old navy he now has to wear 2T in shirts because of his height but he really hasn't grown any besides getting a little taller in a long time

Is beginning to love to wrestle and jump on us, and roll around.  His favorite is while we are laying down to come up and do butt bombs on our stomach.

Really getting an imagination.  It has been so neat to listen to and watch him play.  He makes so many more sounds and noises than before.  He plays with his fake food and says yum yum, plays with his cars and makes noises and makes them crash and will say oww ooww..  So cute!  .  You can tell he is just really getting so much and acts it out with his toys.

Finally starting to learn more words just about daily.  I am most anxious for his 2 year appt so we can figure out where he is language wise.  We have been concerned for awhile and decided to just wait until his appt next week to see if he gets referred or not.  We still think he is behind language wise than where he should be but he definetly has seemed to be trying to gain some ground lately.  He has been saying words we have known he knew but wouldn't say before and has been making lots of letter sounds like he is practicing a lot .  He does still say a lot of things we just can't understand  yet so we may be missing some of  the things he is trying to tell us and not realize it.

Is such a neat kid!  So thankful I get to spend most days with him!  Love him to pieces!

How Noah spent his Birthday

Noah got lucky this year, both mom and dad were off on his birthday since it was a Wednesday. After we all woke up and Noah was already playing in his playroom, we sang him the Happy Birthday song, he just looked at us like we were weirdos.  (someday when he reads this he will laugh because he will still think we are weirdos!)  Then we really just went on throughout the day just like any other..

He played with cars and of course lined them all up and turned them all upside down, one of his new things!

 Played with his brother
He has decided he doesn't like his picture taken anymore, so he either gives me a dirty look or covers his face.  Not getting  the best pictures lately!
We took him to Niemergs to eat some of his favorite foods, their bananas covered in strawberry gel, chicken tenders/fries and BBQ sauce, and then jello
Then we went to Walmart to get a piece of cake and some candles, and bought him the Cars 1 DVD, he already has the Cars toon tales and loves it so we decided to add to the collection for him.

Then we lit some candles for him not once but about 5 times.  He absolutely loved blowing out the candles (he thought he did but we really did for him, haha)  Just loved seeing that face of his light up.  So much fun!  Then he actually ate cake!  Last year he wouldn't touch it, this year he still wouldn't do it himself or stick his fingers in or anything but he did eat quite a few bites that I fed him and dipped the candles in the icing and kep licking them off.  Then we let him watch his new DVD.  We took a break in the middle for bathtime but other than that he sat there and watched the whole thing. Noah just loves certain shows and Cars is one of them.  Before bed, I got some cuddle time in with Noah while  he was  watching his movie and stole lots of kisses!  I know he doesn't understand yet, but I think he had a pretty good day. We didn't have him open any presents since we are celebrating his birthday Saturday with all of our family.  We probably should have let him open ours tonight but I just didn't think about it ahead of time for some reason and since he doesn't really understand yet, it makes no difference to him.  I am looking forward to Saturday to see if he will not eat a cupcake himself or not and see that face light up again when he sees candles again!  For his birthday I had planned a Mickey party awhile ago because he has liked Mickey for awhile now.  I had no idea that in just a few short weeks everything in his world would become Cars otherwise I would have done a Cars party.  Oh well, he is only 2 so I"m sure he will still like all the Mickey stuff still and maybe we can plan a Cars party for next year!  Pics of his party to come this weekend!

Can't help but smile when you see this face, can you?

Happy Birthday Noah

Wow, I can't believe 2 years ago today we were holding our first baby boy for the first time!  These last two years have gone by so fast and we are more than blessed to have gotten to watch Noah grow up and spend each day with him.

Noah just a few hours after he was born

Noah in his car seat for the first time, heading home from the hospital.  I remember how excited I was to go home.. that is until we got there and realized we didn't know what to do next.
Our little chub at a few months old
4 Months Old, lost all of his dark hair and started growing his crazy blonde hair.  Such a chub he was, just love that smile.

One of his first times swimming
His first vacation to Tybee island, one we will never forget!

And his hair was now out of control, I will forever look back on pictures from this age and still never understand why I didn't do something about his hair.  This one isn't the worst but it's just too funny
Our cute little chicken, Noah's first Halloween

Noah's first birthday party, he wouldn't even touch the cake
Getting to be a walking pro, helping mommy swiffer

We finally got rid of all of his hair, before this we were just barely cutting it.
 Such a cutie, fruit lover!

Happy Birthday Buddy!
Noah you are one loved little boy.  We love you more than we could ever express.  You have changed our lives, and we can't imagine life without you.  These last two years have been a rollercoaster ride, but all worth it.  You never used to be a cuddler but now you want to cuddle with momma just about every night before bed.  You give the best hugs and have such an infectious smile and laugh.  You are such a character and never fail to make us laugh.  You are growing up more and more every day and we are so proud of the little boy and big brother that you have become.  If we could freeze you right here, I think we would.  You are learning new things every day and are getting so smart you amaze us! You are my favorite toddler Noah, we wouldn't trade you for  the world!  Love you so much Noah!

Makes me Happy!

These two boys sure do know how to make their momma feel so blessed!
Lately just watching them makes my heart happy!

The other day we were all in the playroom, Carson in the bumbo, Noah playing and I had got up to go to the bathroom.  I come back and Noah took my spot right by Carson and each time Carson dropped a toy off his tray, Noah would pick it back up for him and put it back on.  Then he also had a little noise making toy and once it would go off, Noah would turn and push it on again.  It was just so cute to see Noah be such a good big brother and Carson was completely content with his brother by his side.  Things like this happen most days!

This is another one of Noah's favorite things to do to Carson.  When I have Carson on the floor Noah likes to get over him and sometimes he likes to get a little too close and put his weight on Carson.  I usually let Noah do this but just watch him closely so that he doesn't hurt his bro. I can't wait to see these two as they grow together.  I know there will be times they don't get along but now they are so cute together!
 Love it!N

4 Months Old

Our sweet little boy turned 4 months old on December 29th.  We had his checkup at the doctors this last Wednesday.  Carson had a growth spurt in the last two months.  He is now 25 inches tall and 14 lbs 12 oz.  At his two month appt he was in the 10 th percentile for his height and how he is in the 40th.  That's a big jump for a little guy.  Then he was in the 25th for his weight and now he is in the 36th percentile.

At 4 months  Carson is
-still not sleeping through the night, he did once but we haven't even came close since.  As a matter of fact most nights it seems like we are going backwards.
-is an early riser, most days he thinks it's time to hang out by 5 or 6.
-loves, loves his jumperoo.  That thing is his happy place, he loves to jump, bounce and watch his big brother play
-is pretty much over his cranky evening time.  Every once in awhile he gets crankier.  We still usually have to keep him entertained in the evening but at least we aren't pacing anymore.
-loves being talked to.  He will smile at anyone who talks to him
-laughs every once in awhile.  He has such a different laugh than we are used to, it's just kind of a chuckle not a belly laugh.
-can be a cuddler now  sometimes, sometimes he will let me rock him to sleep which is nice!
-likes holding a burp cloth just like his brother
-has rolled from belly to back multiple times, when he is on his back he will roll to his side but never all the way yet
-is really starting to reach out for things, and getting a little better with his hand control
-likes to suck on his fingers but hasn't stuck with the thumb yet.  Some days or nights when we want to pacify him with something it would be nice, since he still won't take a paci which we have given up on.  I have already packed them away so it's really too late now
-still cat naps in the morning but will on most days take a long afternoon nap

And is such a cute little boy with his chubby cheeks, we just love him!C

First Attempt

Two weeks ago we attempted cereal with Carson for  the first time.  Now I remember our first attempt with Noah, didn't go so well, there was lots of crying and we ended up trying again the same night while he was in the little bath thing.  Carson did extremely well, he seemed to actually really like it.  The first couple bites we didn't get much in his mouth but after that he did better and better and finished the whole bowl.

I was hoping we would actually get some sleep after trying cereal but nope little man was up every 3 hours that night. Since I didn't get results I was hoping for we haven't done it since.  Not sure when we will really start doing cereal.  I would like  to try again for a few nights and see if it makes a difference.

Here are a few pics of the little messy face!
