We have done many, many, many renovations to our house in the last 3 years. We had replaced all the lights and fans in our house I think in the first year we lived here, except for we changed Noah's light to a fan after he was born, but there was one fan/light in the dining room that had been left unchanged. Reason being is we just didn't quite know what we wanted to do about it because the old fan was centered according to how the room used to be. We had knocked out a closet to open the space and make it bigger, since we made it larger it was no longer centered. At first I didn't know what I wanted because we had tossed around different ideas like doing pendants to still use the orginal hole, replacing it with another fan, or just a chandelier and then after awhile I just never really thought about it and was used to it being like that. Well we have made a list of all the house projects that we have started or things that really need done and we are trying to knock them out as soon as possible so yesterday that was the task of the day for Matthew. Now of course we just couldn't put up a new light since the old one wasn't in the right spot so he had to go to the attic and make a new hole and patch up the old one. Then I got the fun job of cleaning up all the drywall chunks, dust, and mud mess. It does look so much better and it was kind of sad today to throw away the last old light of the house. There really isn't much of the original house left.
Here is Matthew removing the last old light/fan ( he had already taken the blades off)
And the pretty new one! We haven't quite decided yet, but I think we might move it up a little, the light it puts off is a little low in the room with this one.
